USSRD provides an operator-training program combining hands-on training with multimedia-rich PowerPoint presentations and testing materials. The hour-long programs, directed by USSRD staff, address five key topics:

  • Proper care and handling of rotary cutting dies.
  • Proper technique for bolting cutting dies to the cylinder - specifically things to watch out for and pitfalls to avoid.
  • Quality check after running dies.

• Die Ejection Materials

  • Open cell material.
  • Closed cell material.
  • Specialty materials.
  • 1/2" rubber, 5/8" rubber, 7/8" rubber, slot/trim rubber & Kusion Crease.

• Bobst Cutting Dies

  • The BOBST way.
  • Advantages of a BOBST press.
  • Disadvantages of a BOBST press.
  • Production/manufacturing information as it relates to using a BOBST press and its specialized tooling.
