U.S. Graphics was started in July of 2008. This is the sister company of U.S. Steel Rule Dies, the largest independent steel rule die company in California and Washington. Even though this is a new product line it is not a new area of expertise for our company. Throughout the 1990’s U.S. Steel Rule Dies was the leading printing plate manufacturer in San Diego and northern Mexico. At that time we operated under the name of Palomar Packaging. In late 1997 we were acquired by Matthews International. We sold in order to expand our steel rule dies business into northern California and the east coast. Unfortunately plans changed after the purchase and two years later we separated from the corporate company. When we split (in 2000) we agreed to take over the cutting die division and left the printing plate business with Matthews. At that time we signed a 5 year non-compete agreement. Since the split U.S. Steel Rule Dies has opened facilities in Cerritos (Los Angeles County), Turlock (Central Valley), and Washington (Tumwater and Yakima). We have waited until the right time to introduce our new printing plate division. We decided to open our plate division in our Central Valley Facility. We have since reassembled our team consisting of over 100 years of experience in our graphics department and 50 years of experience in our plate making and mounting department, couple with the Central Valley's best sales and customer service organization. We are looking forward to growing U.S. Graphics to match our steel dies division over the next 2 years. This is an exciting time for U.S. Steel and we look forward to being the best "one stop shop" for the corrugated box manufacturing industry. |
